Description
The CP-AOCU/CH-50 is an active optical USB-C to HDMI cable engineered to carry high-bandwidth video and audio across long runs. It converts a USB-C source to an HDMI display connection while preserving signal integrity over extended distances. The plenum-rated jacket makes it suitable for in-building air-handling spaces and commercial AV installations.
This cable delivers 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 video and supports HDR, HDCP 2.2/1.4 and EDID passthrough to ensure compatibility with modern displays and source devices. It provides up to 18Gbps bandwidth and supports embedded audio formats including PCM 8-channel, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. The active optical design reduces signal attenuation and minimizes EMI and RFI susceptibility compared to long copper runs.
Physically the cable is thin and flexible with a 4.7mm diameter and a 20mm bending radius to simplify routing in tight spaces and racks. The hybrid construction uses polymer insulated glass fibers combined with tinned copper conductors to carry power and low-frequency signals. Connectors are 24K gold-plated to resist corrosion and maintain reliable contact over repeated installations.
Connectivity is simple: a USB-C source plugs into the cable and an HDMI Type A male connects to the display device. The cable transparently passes EDID and HDCP information to preserve handshake and copy-protection behavior. It is available in lengths up to 30m (98ft) to accommodate a wide range of AV layouts.
Typical applications include digital signage, conference rooms, lecture halls and broadcast monitoring where long runs and signal fidelity are essential. The low-profile cable is lighter and more flexible than comparable copper assemblies, making it easier to run through conduits and raceways. The plenum-rated jacket and EMI resistance support clean installations and reliable operation in demanding environments.
