The MX-0404-SCL is a 4×4 HDMI matrix switcher designed to route and manage multiple HDMI sources to multiple displays. It provides seamless source switching to eliminate black-screen artifacts during transitions. The unit supports modern 4K HDR formats and offers scalable outputs for mixed-resolution systems.

Key features include per-output downscalers to distribute 4K and 1080p content simultaneously, balanced analog and S/PDIF audio de-embedding, and seamless low-latency switching. The MX-0404-SCL supports HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision and HLG standards to preserve high dynamic range content. It also provides multi-view and video wall support for advanced display layouts.

Performance specifications include support for 3840x2160p @60Hz 10bit 4:2:2 HDR10/10+ and 3840x2160p @60Hz 12bit 4:2:0 Dolby Vision, plus 4096x2160p @60Hz 8bit 4:4:4. The platform passes an 18 Gbps uncompressed HDMI signal path and supports a maximum pixel clock of 600 MHz. Audio formats handled include 2ch PCM and multichannel LPCM up to DTS 5.1.

Connectivity options cover 4x HDMI inputs and 4x HDMI outputs using 19-pin Type A connectors, two 5-pin balanced analog audio outputs and two Toslink digital audio outputs. Control and integration are provided via RS-232 terminal block, 10/100 Ethernet with Web UI and API, IR receiver and an included IR remote. EDID management and CEC display power triggering are supported.

Typical applications include corporate AV distribution, education campuses, hospitality installations and digital signage installations where mixed-resolution displays and audio extraction are required. The MX-0404-SCL supports video wall and multi-view layouts and provides API-accessible features for automation and scheduling. It also supports AV mute and API-triggered standby to reduce power consumption during off hours.

Installation is straightforward using rack or wall mounting brackets and a 12V DC power supply. The web-based UI and Telnet/RS-232 commands simplify configuration and output downscaling. The unit is engineered for consistent operation in pro AV systems and includes balanced audio outputs for direct connection to amplifiers or DSPs.
