Description
The EXT3-U3-R is an HDBaseT HDMI receiver and USB 3.2 Gen1 extender designed to bridge USB 3.2 Gen1 devices and HDMI sources over a single CATx link. It converts HDBaseT USB signals back to device-side USB and provides a USB hub for up to three devices. The receiver supports legacy USB 2.0/1.1 devices as well as high-bandwidth USB3 peripherals.
Key features include support for USB 3.2 Gen1 at 5 Gbps, RS232 two-way serial extension, and FSYNC frame synchronization for cameras. The unit supports interrupt, bulk and isochronous USB transaction modes, enabling high-throughput devices such as UVC cameras and capture devices. Power delivery is provided over the CATx cable so only one side needs a local power source.
Performance specifications include HDBaseT USB transport over CATx with reach up to 100 meters and a traffic rate of 5 GBps. The receiver functions as an integrated USB hub and supports USB charging when powered locally or standard charging when powered over CAT. LED indicators show link and power status to simplify diagnostics.
Connectivity is handled via an RJ-45 CAT connector for the extension link, three USB-A device ports on the receiver, one USB-B host port on the transmitter, and a 3-pin terminal block for RS232. The unit supports a wide variety of USB peripherals such as cameras, storage devices, touchscreens and HID devices. Backward compatibility with USB2.0/1.1 is supported transparently.
Typical applications include deployment of USB cameras in meeting rooms and lecture halls, extending video-over-USB formats like UVC or DisplayLink, smartphone docking, and remote USB storage deployment. The EXT3-U3-R is particularly suitable where camera synchronization and robust serial control are required. Its HDBaseT link reduces cabling complexity by combining data, control and power delivery over a single CATx run.
The receiver is built in an aluminum enclosure with passive cooling and is designed for simple plug and play installation. Operating temperature ranges are 0 to 40 degrees C with storage down to minus 40 degrees C and humidity tolerance of 10 to 90 percent non-condensing. CE, FCC and UL safety approvals and RoHS and WEEE environmental compliance support professional deployments.
