Description
The ECW270 is a cloud managed outdoor WiFi 6 access point designed to deliver reliable wireless connectivity in harsh environments. It provides concurrent dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz operation and advanced client handling to serve dense deployments. The IP68-rated enclosure and rugged design protect electronics against dust and heavy rain while maintaining high throughput.
The ECW270 features 4×4 spatial streams, MU-MIMO and OFDMA to maximize spectral efficiency and capacity. It supports up to 8 external detachable antennas and offers Tx beamforming to extend range and stability. Management is cloud based to simplify provisioning, monitoring and firmware updates across multiple sites.
Performance includes aggregate wireless rates up to 3600 Mbps with per-band peak rates of 2400 Mbps on 5 GHz and 1200 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. A Qualcomm quad-core ARM Cortex A53 CPU at 2.2 GHz drives advanced radio scheduling and client services. Power is supplied via 802.3at/802.3bt PoE and a 2.5 GbE port handles uplink aggregation and high-throughput backhaul.
Connectivity includes one 2.5GbE RJ45 port and one Gigabit RJ45 port with PoE+ PSE out for powered devices. VLAN tagging, multiple SSIDs and comprehensive security suites such as WPA3 and WPA2 enterprise are supported. SNMP, SSH tunnel and management VLAN options ensure integration with existing network management systems.
Typical deployments include business parks, campuses, student housing and outdoor public spaces where weatherproof WiFi coverage and high client density are required. The ECW270 supports mesh and AP mesh modes to extend coverage without additional cabling. Its MU-MIMO and OFDMA implementations help maintain performance as client counts increase.
Installation is simplified by cloud provisioning and standard PoE power options, enabling rapid site rollout. The enclosure and connectors are built to withstand wide temperature ranges and high humidity while offering surge and ESD protection. Firmware controls and status LEDs provide straightforward on-site diagnostics and remote monitoring.
