Description
The PT-3UC is an active USB-C extender designed to maintain full USB 3.2 Gen2 performance over extended cable lengths. It reclocks and equalizes the USB signal to remove dropouts and digital noise – delivering a stable connection between host and device. The unit supports Video ALT Mode and supplies device power up to 2.5A where applicable.
Key features include USB 3.2 Gen2 SuperSpeed 10Gbps data throughput, signal buffering in both directions, and Video ALT Mode support for video pass-through. The extender provides plug and play operation with no drivers required and maintains backwards compatibility with USB 3.0, 2.0 and 1.1 devices. External power is available via a micro-USB connector when additional power is needed.
Performance specifications include a maximum data rate of 10Gbps and support for video resolutions up to 4K@60. The PT-3UC is designed to eliminate sparkles and dropouts that occur with long passive cables by reclocking and equalizing the signal. Self consumption is low at <=1 W while device output power can reach 2.5A (12.5W).
Connectivity is provided by USB-C female connectors on both input and output sides and a micro-USB power input. The device supports USB 3.2 Gen2 hosts and devices and remains backwards compatible with USB 3.0/2.0/1.1 endpoints. Certified compliance includes CE, FCC, REACH and ROHS to meet commercial deployment requirements.
Typical applications include broadcast and AV installations where long USB cable runs cause signal errors, capture and streaming workflows that require stable USB 3.2 links, and conference or control-room setups that use USB-C peripherals. The PT-3UC ensures reliable connectivity in mixed-equipment environments where both power and high-speed data are required. It is also suited to desktop and rack scenarios where a short active segment improves overall system reliability.
Installation is straightforward – plug the host and device into the USB-C ports and add micro-USB power if needed. The unit is compact and requires no driver installation, simplifying integration into existing systems. Build quality and signal conditioning components are optimized to reduce jitter and maintain link stability under typical operating conditions.
