Description
The WP-789R is a HDBaseT wall-plate receiver designed to convert long-reach HDBaseT signals into a local HDMI output. It supports HDMI 2.0 features including HDCP 2.2 and 4K@60Hz (4:2:0) video. The unit is powered over the twisted-pair link using PoE or via a local 12V DC adapter.
This receiver extends HDMI signals up to 40m (130ft) at 4K@60Hz (4:2:0) and up to 70m (230ft) at 1080p using compatible twisted-pair cabling. It passes EDID for straightforward plug-and-play operation and supports multi-channel uncompressed audio up to 32 channels. Control extension is provided via extended RS-232 and IR ports for remote device management.
Built for AV integration, the WP-789R handles 10.2Gbps bandwidth and honors HDMI 2.0 audio and video features including deep color and x.v.Color. The receiver supports Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD audio formats and adheres to HDCP 2.2 for protected content. RS-232 operates from 300 to 115200 baud and IR supports wide-range 20kHz to 100kHz modulated signals or 38kHz fixed.
Connectivity includes an HDBT RJ-45 input, an HDMI output, two IR terminal block connectors and two RS-232 terminal block connectors including a dedicated PROG port for firmware updates. The unit fits standard US, EU and UK 2-gang wall boxes and ships with region-appropriate frames and faceplates. Power options are PoE from a remote PoE provider or the supplied 12V DC power adapter.
Typical applications include low-profile in-wall display installations in boardrooms, auditoriums, museums and marine environments where space is limited behind the screen. Its shallow profile makes it suitable for lean or narrow walls and integrated control panels. LEDs indicate power and connectivity to simplify troubleshooting on site.
Installation is straightforward and requires a single twisted-pair cable to deliver both signal and power when PoE is available. The enclosure is aluminum with convection ventilation to maintain reliable operation in typical AV environments. The WP-789R is engineered for easy maintenance and long-term compatibility with HDBaseT-compliant transmitters and matrices.
