The AW-8D is an all-weather IP66 rated 8in wall-mount Dante speaker designed to deliver clear, consistent audio across indoor and outdoor environments. It integrates a built-in amplifier, DSP, and two-channel mixer to simplify networked audio deployment. The speaker is PoE capable and available in a white finish to blend with typical commercial installations.

Key features include PoE power negotiation for PoE/PoE+/PoE++, parametric EQ, high-pass and low-pass filters, input compression, and output limiting for precise tuning. The unit also offers protection mechanisms such as over-current, output-shortcut and over-temperature protection to maintain reliable operation. A built-in Find Me tone aids in rapid identification during setup.

Technically the AW-8D uses a 200 mm low-frequency driver and a 25 mm liquid-cooled soft-dome tweeter to deliver a frequency response down to 70Hz and up to 20kHz. Sensitivity is 91dB SPL at 1W/1m and maximum SPL ranges up to 106dB peak depending on PoE class. Power handling scales by PoE class with PoE++ supporting higher peak output for demanding scenes.

Connectivity is via a Dante-enabled RJ-45 network port that carries audio and power, while the speaker supports remote control and monitoring through Kramer Speaker Utility and a control API for third-party systems. The unit also integrates factory reset functionality for field servicing. Firmware updates and remote configuration are handled over the network for simplified maintenance.

Typical use cases include mixed indoor-outdoor zones, retail facades, covered patios, and perimeter paging where a single networked speaker design is preferred.
