The EXA-100-EARC is an audio-only eARC extender designed to carry high-fidelity audio signals up to 100m (330ft) over UTP cabling. It supports eARC/ARC and S/PDIF formats and preserves full audio integrity across the link. The product is supplied as a transmitter and receiver pair for simple deployment.
Key features include support for lossless audio formats such as Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Atmos when using eARC, manual audio-path selection via a 2-pin DIP, and bi-directional control signal pass-through. The unit also carries IR, RS-232, and CEC control so remote devices remain operable across the extended distance. The plug-and-play design reduces setup time and avoids complex configuration.
Technical performance is engineered for audio-first installations with support for PCM 2.0/5.1/7.1 and object-based formats like Dolby Atmos and DTS:X over eARC. ARC and S/PDIF modes support core compressed and PCM 2.0 formats. Power is supplied by included 5V 1A adapters and maximum measured power consumption is 3.582W, ensuring low energy draw in continuous use.
Connectivity covers dedicated optical/coax S/PDIF inputs, a 19-pin Type A HDMI port on the receiver for eARC capture, UTP link ports for the extender connection, and IR/RS-232 control terminals. The DIP switch allows hardware selection between eARC/ARC and S/PDIF without software. The extender maintains synchronization and control across commonly used AV components and control systems.
Typical applications include distributing TV audio to remote AV receivers, integrating an existing soundbar or surround processor at distance, and consolidating audio-only links in multi-room entertainment systems. The unit is suitable for residential and light commercial AV where video extension is not required and audio fidelity is the primary concern. It supports common Dolby and DTS formats used in home theaters.
