The EX-40-KVM-5K is an HDBaseT 3.0 extender kit designed to transmit uncompressed HDMI video and audio over long distances while supporting KVM peripherals. It delivers up to 5K@30Hz and 5120×1440@60Hz video resolutions and fully supports 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 and all HDR formats. This product is intended for professional AV installations that require high-resolution video and USB 2.0 device pass-through.

Key capabilities include HDMI 2.0b bandwidth up to 18 Gbps, USB 2.0 pass-through at up to 350 Mbps, and full HDR support including HDR10, HLG, Dolby Vision and HDR10+. The kit provides an HDMI loop-out on the transmitter for local preview and analog audio de-embedding on both transmitter and receiver. RS-232 control is available and configurable via a DIP switch for pass-through and firmware updates.

Performance specifications enable uncompressed HDMI 2.0 video transmission and support a wide range of SMPTE and VESA resolutions including 5120×2160@30Hz and 5120×1440@60Hz. Audio formats supported include PCM 2.0/5.1/7.1, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS:X. The extender supports HDCP 2.3 to maintain content protection where required.

Connectivity is comprehensive with HDBT ports, HDMI I/O, analog audio in/out, and USB 2.0 Type-B on the transmitter plus four USB Type-A ports on the receiver. The RS-232 port uses a 3-pin Phoenix connector and is configurable for pass-through or firmware updates via DIP switch. One-way PoH allows a single 12V/3A power supply to power both ends when required.

Typical applications include control room KVM setups, digital signage and command centers that require high-resolution multi-format video and centralized peripheral control. The USB 2.0 passthrough supports keyboards, mice, touchscreens and webcams, making it suitable for interactive displays and AV switching stations. The HDR and high-bandwidth video support make it appropriate for color-critical or immersive audio-visual environments.

Installation is simplified with included mounting brackets and international power cables and a 4-pin DIP switch for field configuration and updates. EDID copy functionality helps streamline display handshakes and reduce setup time. The metal enclosures and professional connectors support rack or surface mounting and long-term reliability in commercial AV deployments.
