The Pyro 5 Wireless Transceiver Monitor Kit is a mobile video transmission and monitoring solution that combines a 5.5in 1080p touchscreen transceiving monitor with a wireless transmitter and receiver. It is designed to send and receive HDMI and SDI video signals over dual-band 2.4/5 GHz links with low latency. The unit supports RTMP streaming and on-board SD recording for streamlined workflows.

The system provides broadcast mode that allows one transmitter to connect to up to four receivers and supports auto dual-band frequency hopping for stable transmissions. The monitor offers a 1500 nit brightness LCD and image analysis tools including waveform, focus assist, false color, and zebras. Two transmission modes – HD mode and Smooth mode – let users balance bitrate and latency depending on distance and image requirements.

Performance metrics include up to 1312ft line-of-sight wireless range in standard mode and latency as low as 60 ms in Smooth mode. HD mode supports bitrates up to 12 Mb/s and provides higher image fidelity when conditions allow. The system supports 1080p60 over HDMI and SDI input formats and records proxy MP4 files with timecode to SD card for editing and sync workflows.

Connectivity covers 1x HDMI input, 1x 3G-SDI input, 1x HDMI loop output on the transceiver, and HDMI output on the receiver. Antenna ports use RP-SMA and a USB-C port enables power or UVC streaming to computers. The monitor accepts an L-series battery on a fixed plate and includes barrel DC power input for continuous operation.

Typical applications include on-set monitoring for camera operators and directors, ENG and event streaming, and live production where low-latency wireless video and multi-receiver distribution are required. RTMP streaming support enables direct delivery to platforms such as YouTube Live and Twitch while UVC support allows plug-and-play use with conferencing and streaming PCs.

Installation is straightforward using preset grouping and smart channel selection for rapid pairing in multi-device setups. The durable monitor housing, tempered glass protector, and available mounting points simplify rigging on cameras, gimbals, or stands. The system is engineered for professional day-to-day production use and integrates into existing HDMI/SDI workflows.
