Description
The AT-VKP-8E is an IP-based 8-button keypad controller designed to provide compact, reliable local control for a single room AV system. It combines an electronic paper display and RGB LED indicators to present clear button labels and status feedback. The unit supports Power over Ethernet for simplified installation and networked control.
The keypad features a 2.7 inch high-contrast e-paper display that supports custom icons and text for each button and multiple pages for different modes. Eight programmable buttons include per-button RGB LED indicators and a multi-step LED level indicator for volume or status. The device also provides a bi-directional RS-232 port for serial control of legacy components.
Internally the keypad runs Linux on an i.MX6 Cortex A7 CPU and ships with 512Mb LVDDR3 RAM and 4GB eMMC flash for storage. The e-paper display resolution is 264 by 172 pixels and presents white and black content for long readability and low power draw. Network support includes standard IPv4 and IPv6 protocols and 10/100 Mbps Ethernet operation.
Connectivity supports IP control over the network and RS-232 serial control for projectors and switchers. The keypad is configurable through Atlona Cloud which enables icon and label assignment, LED behavior, and macro programming. Power over Ethernet follows IEEE 802.3at/af standards so a single cable provides power and data to the device.
Typical applications include small classrooms, huddle rooms, and simple meeting spaces that require straightforward source selection, display control, and volume adjustment. The panel is intended as either a standalone control surface or as a supplemental user interface in larger Velocity systems. Pre-configured control files are available for common switchers and AV devices to speed deployment.
The VKP-8E mounts in a standard one-gang North American junction box and ships with interchangeable black and white magnetic faceplates for aesthetic flexibility. Installation is simplified by PoE and captive screw connectors for RS-232 wiring. The metal and plastic construction and industry certifications provide reliable operation in commercial AV environments.
