The Atlona Velocity hardware gateway is a dedicated AV control and room scheduling server that centralizes system management and device provisioning. It provides browser-based setup and management so administrators and integrators can deploy AV control systems without traditional programming. The appliance supports both user touch panels and BYOD devices for control.

Key features include support for multiple AV control rooms, room scheduling panels, and unified device management via Velocity Device Manager. The gateway supports 20+ AV control rooms, 40+ scheduling rooms, and up to 1,000 IP devices, with optional licenses to expand room counts if hardware resources permit. The system supports automatic failover when primary and backup gateways are deployed to maintain uptime.

Technical capabilities include dual Gigabit Ethernet ports for segregated AV and facility LANs, industry-standard secure communications such as HTTP/2, HTTPS, SSH, SFTP, WebSockets with TLS and AES-128 encryption, and support for DHCP or static addressing. The unit is rack-mountable in a 1U half-width enclosure and ships with an external universal power supply rated AC100~240V input and DC 19V/4.74A output.

The Velocity gateway integrates with common calendar platforms including Google Workspace, Office 365, Exchange, and Astra Schedule for room scheduling. It also supports Atlona touch panels and BYOD mobile devices at no additional licensing cost, and includes Velocity Device Manager for discovery, configuration, firmware updates, and ongoing monitoring of Atlona IP devices on the network.

Applications include centralized AV control and scheduling across corporate meeting rooms, classrooms, lecture halls, and event spaces. The gateway can trigger AV system macros on meeting start and end, streamline credential and firmware management, and enable remote support when used with Velocity Premier Services Remote Gateway (AT-VPS-RG).

Installation and operation are designed for integrators and IT staff, with an intuitive web portal for rapid configuration, duplication of room configurations across sites, and role-based account access for integrators, clients, and AV/IT personnel. The hardware design and redundant gateway option provide reliability and streamlined maintenance for managed AV deployments.
