Description
The Atlona AT-HDR-SW-52ED is a 5×2 HDMI matrix switcher designed to route 4K/UHD HDR sources to HDMI and HDBaseT outputs. It delivers 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 and supports HDR10, Dolby Vision and HLG formats for accurate high dynamic range content. The unit provides selectable 4K to 1080p downscaling for mixed-resolution systems.
The switcher includes five HDMI inputs and a mirrored or matrixed HDMI output plus an HDBaseT output that carries video, audio, power and control over category cable. The HDBaseT output supports distances up to 330 ft / 100 m over CAT6/6a/7 and can supply IEEE 802.3af PoE to a compatible receiver. Integrated audio de-embedding provides balanced analog and S/PDIF outputs from the active HDMI source.
Video performance includes HDMI 2.0b compatibility up to 18 Gbps, a 600 MHz pixel clock and support for 8-bit, 10-bit and 12-bit color depths with 4:4:4 chroma sampling. The switcher handles a broad range of resolutions including 4096×2160 and 3840×2160 at 24/25/30/50/60 Hz, and it supports multi-channel audio formats including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. HDCP 2.2 management and EDID control ensure correct handshake and format negotiation with sources and sinks.
Connectivity covers five HDMI inputs, one HDMI output, one HDBaseT output, LAN, S/PDIF, balanced analog audio outputs, RS-232 and IR ports. The integrated web GUI and TCP/IP, RS-232 or IR control options allow flexible integration into control systems and centralized management via Velocity Device Manager. The device also provides HDBaseT link testing and real-time status monitoring for troubleshooting cable runs.
Typical applications include meeting rooms, lecture halls and presentation spaces that need dual displays or remote extension over category cable. The selectable downscaling mode is useful when some displays or codecs require 1080p while other endpoints accept 4K. Automatic input selection and automatic display control simplify presenter workflows and reduce the need for external control processors in mirrored output mode.
Installation is straightforward with a 1U half-rack chassis, surface mounting hardware and rack ears included for full-width mounting. Field-updatable firmware and a built-in web interface ease maintenance and configuration. The AT-HDR-SW-52ED combines long-distance HDBaseT extension, HDR support and audio extraction to deliver a compact integration-ready solution for modern AV systems.
