Description
The Atlona AT-HDR-SW-52 is a 5×2 HDMI matrix switcher built to manage multiple 4K HDR sources and dual HDMI displays. It supports 4K/UHD at 60 Hz with 4:4:4 chroma sampling and HDR formats to preserve high-fidelity image quality. The unit provides selectable mirrored or matrixed outputs to match diverse AV workflows.
Key capabilities include five HDMI inputs and two HDMI outputs, selectable 4K to 1080p downscaling, and audio de-embedding to balanced analog and S/PDIF outputs. The switcher supports HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HLG plus multi-channel audio formats including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. EDID and HDCP 2.2 management ensure stable handshakes and predictable source behavior.
Performance features include an 18 Gbps HDMI data rate, 600 MHz pixel clock, 8/10/12-bit color depth support, and chroma subsampling options of 4:4:4, 4:2:2, and 4:2:0. Integrated 4K downscaling is available to 1080p at 60, 30, or 24 Hz and can be bypassed to allow full 4K/60 4:4:4 pass-through. The HDR-SW-52 also provides automatic input selection when outputs are mirrored, using hot plug detect and active video sensing.
Connectivity includes 5x HDMI Type A inputs, 2x HDMI Type A outputs, balanced analog audio via a 5-pin captive screw, S/PDIF RCA output, RS-232 captive screw port, RJ45 Ethernet for control, IR support, and a mini-USB firmware port. The front panel offers volume buttons and status LEDs, and the device is controllable via TCP/IP, RS-232, IR, or Atlona Velocity systems. Firmware is field updatable through the web GUI or Velocity Device Manager.
Typical applications include conference and meeting rooms requiring simplified source switching, presentation spaces needing dual-display outputs, and AV systems that feed larger distribution platforms or video codecs that require 1080p content. The selectable downscaling and deep EDID management make the unit suitable for mixed 4K and 1080p environments. Automatic switching and mirrored output modes streamline user workflows for BYOD scenarios.
The HDR-SW-52 ships in a 1U half-rack enclosure with surface- and rack-mounting accessories for flexible installation in furniture or equipment racks. It uses an external universal power supply and consumes 18.06 W under typical operation. System integrators will appreciate centralized configuration and firmware control via Velocity Device Manager and a web-based GUI for onsite troubleshooting and setup.
