Description
The EX-70-H2 is a compact HDBaseT HDMI extender designed to transport 4K HDR video and multichannel audio over a single Cat cable. It uses dynamic compression to deliver visually lossless 4K content at high frame rates while maintaining low latency. The unit supports HDCP 2.2 to ensure compatibility with encrypted UHD sources.
Key features include WyreStorm’s VLC (Visually Lossless Compression) chipset which enables high frame rate HDR-10 and HLG transmission over standard 10Gbps HDBaseT. The system supports 4K60 HDR 4:2:0 10bit and 4K60 4:4:4 8bit profiles depending on source and network conditions. The EX-70-H2 also offers full audio support up to DTS-X and Dolby Atmos for immersive soundtracks.
Performance-driven specifications include a 10.2Gbps encoding data rate and end-to-end latency of approximately 10us. Maximum pixel clock support is HDMI 600MHz and HDBaseT 297MHz. The extender automatically re-clocks source signals to resolve clock-stretching problems and preserves signal integrity across the HDBaseT link.
Connectivity is flexible with a transmitter HDMI input and a receiver HDMI output plus HDBaseT RJ-45 on both ends. Control options include bidirectional IR, RS-232 via a 3-pin terminal block, EDID handling and CEC pass-through where supported. Power can be supplied to the system via 2-way PoH or the included 18V DC 1A power supply.
Typical applications include digital signage networks, corporate meeting rooms, lecture halls and AV distribution in hospitality environments where encrypted 4K HDR content is required. The low profile chassis allows discreet installation behind displays while preserving full UHD capability. The unit supports long runs of Cat5e/Cat6 cabling for flexible zone placement.
Installation is straightforward with auto-equalization, threaded bushings for locking DC plugs and visual LED status indicators for power, link and HDCP presence. Mounting brackets and a universal power supply are included to simplify deployment. The EX-70-H2 combines advanced compression, robust control connectivity and HDCP 2.2 compliance to deliver reliable 4K HDR distribution in professional AV installations.
