Description
The EX-35-H2-ARC is an HDBaseT 4K extender engineered to deliver high-frame-rate HDR video and flexible audio return options over a single CAT cable. It uses visually lossless compression to support high-bandwidth HDMI content while maintaining negligible latency. The system is designed for residential and light-commercial AV installations where 4K60 4:4:4 and HDR content must be transported reliably over distance.
Key capabilities include True ARC support to pass audio from a smart TV back to an AVR, optical audio return, and analog audio de-embed via a 3-pin phoenix connector. The extender supports HDR10 and HLG at up to 60Hz and Dolby Vision at up to 30Hz. Two-way Power over HDBaseT and bidirectional IR and RS-232 control simplify system integration and reduce cable clutter.
Performance is driven by an advanced VLC visually lossless compression chipset that enables up to 17.8Gbps equivalent HDMI bandwidth and a 9.2Gbps encoded data rate over HDBaseT. The unit is HDCP 2.2 compliant and supports Class B HDBaseT extension to 35m / 115ft. Measured end-to-end latency is extremely low at 10 microseconds, preserving real-time audio/video synchronization.
Connectivity includes HDMI inputs and outputs, HDBaseT RJ45 ports, S/PDIF optical input and output, 3-pin phoenix analog audio breakout, IR RX/TX ports, and RS-232 on phoenix connectors. EDID handling and CEC pass-through are supported to maximize compatibility with a wide range of sources and displays. The receiver and transmitter each feature visual LED status indicators for power, link, and HDCP presence.
Typical applications include home theater systems requiring ARC support, conference rooms and collaboration spaces needing long-reach 4K distribution, retail digital signage, and gaming setups that demand 60Hz HDR performance. The EX-35-H2-ARC is suitable where audio extraction or optical return is required alongside high-quality video distribution. Installation is installer-friendly with a slim 21mm chassis for behind-display mounting, included mounting brackets, threaded bushings for standard or locking DC plugs, and automatic equalization and amplification for easy cable runs. Firmware updates and RS-232 modes are switchable on the units to support field maintenance.
