The Kramer 610T and 610R are a detachable DVI optical transmitter and receiver pair designed to extend single-link DVI video over multimode LC fiber. This set sends uncompressed video at resolutions up to 1920×1200 at 60Hz and supports WUXGA performance. The modules are compact and intended for installations where fiber connectivity and EMI immunity are required.

Key features include a maximum data rate of 4.95Gbps (1.65Gbps per graphic channel), certified electromagnetic compatibility for medical environments, and HDTV compatibility. The system uses four LC fiber connectors to carry R, G, B and clock signals and supports distances up to 400m / 1312ft. EDID capture on the transmitter copies and stores display EDID to maintain correct source timing.

Performance details include single-link DVI-D connectivity on DVI-I connectors, support for WUXGA at 60Hz, and a total bandwidth rating suitable for full single-link DVI signals. The extender is not HDCP compliant and does not perform HDCP handshakes. System range and signal integrity are maintained over multimode fiber cable configured as 4 simplex or 2 duplex LC connections.

Connectivity options include DVI-D input on the transmitter and DVI-D output on the receiver along with four LC optical connectors on each module arranged for R, G, B and clock. Power is provided by external 5V DC adapters or by 5V DC from the source where supported. The kit ships with two power supplies to power the transmitter and receiver as required.

Typical applications include digital flat panels, projectors, kiosks, medical displays, traffic and aero control systems, and stadium LED signboards where long-distance fiber links and EMI immunity are needed. The product suits environments that require IEC 60601-1-2 electromagnetic compatibility certification. It is well suited to installations demanding reliable, electrically isolated video links.

Installation is straightforward with LC fiber terminations and standard DVI cabling to source and display devices. EDID capture simplifies setup by retaining display EDID on the transmitter module.
