Description

The EZ-HDA4BX is a compact stereo headphone distribution amplifier designed to feed four independent stereo headphone outputs from a single stereo source. It provides individual front-panel level controls for each output so listeners can set comfortable listening levels. The unit is engineered for straightforward integration into retail demonstrations, studios, houses of worship and commercial audio rigs.

Each of the four outputs is driven separately to maintain consistent level and isolation across multiple headphones. Inputs are unbalanced and provided on gold-plated RCA jacks plus a stereo mini jack and a 1/4 inch TRS jack to match common source devices. Rear-panel mini-jack headphone outputs keep front-panel space clear while allowing easy rack access when mounted in a 1/3 rack width chassis.

Performance specifications include a frequency response of 20 Hz to 50 kHz within ±1.5 dB and total harmonic distortion plus noise below 0.1% at typical listening levels. Crosstalk is specified at better than -75 dB at 1 kHz, and noise measures below -95 dB at maximum gain under the defined test conditions. Level controls provide up to +2.5 dB gain on RCA and 1/4 inch inputs and up to +9 dB gain when using the mini input, suitable for a range of source signal levels.

Connectivity is flexible with stereo RCA, 1/4 inch TRS and a mini input to accommodate consumer and pro sources. Headphone outputs are on rear-panel mini jacks and are rated at approximately 60 mW into a 100 ohm load. The unit runs on a 24 Vdc supply and draws approximately 40 mA idle and up to 65 mA under maximum load conditions.

Typical applications include in-store headphone demos, monitoring stations in project studios, supplemental listening stations in museums and houses of worship, and supplemental headphone outputs in home component systems. The compact 1/3 rack footprint and low power draw make it easy to place into existing racks or shelf spaces. It preserves source signal integrity while expanding headphone access to multiple listeners simultaneously.

Installation is straightforward and requires only the chosen input connection and a 24 Vdc power source. The machined knobs provide precise level adjustment and durable operation for frequent use. The unit ships in a compact cardboard box and includes gold-plated RCA input connectors to minimize corrosion and maintain signal quality over time.
