Description

The FA10BO-4 Audio Diode provides hardware-enforced unidirectional audio flow from a USB host to an analog audio device – preventing audio data leakage and unauthorized inbound audio capture. It is designed to stop attackers from turning speakers or headphones into microphones and to reduce the risk of acoustic data exfiltration in sensitive environments. The product is NIAP Common Criteria PP4.0 PSD compliant to support secure deployments.

Key features include a unidirectional audio path, an integrated low-pass filter that blocks ultrasonic attack vectors, and a user-accessible push button to control access. The low-pass filter limits frequencies to the human-audible range, reducing the possibility of covert high-frequency signalling. The unit is designated Always Open for audio output while explicitly not supporting microphone input on this model.

Technical specifications include a USB host input and an analog audio output, compact enclosure dimensions of 85 x 65 x 34 mm, and a device weight of approximately 185 g (0.41 lbs.). Operating and storage temperature ranges meet common IT deployment needs and the unit meets BAA / TAA compliance requirements. The product lifecycle is specified at 10 years and it carries a 2 year warranty.

Connectivity is simple and driverless in most environments – connect the FA10BO-4 between the host USB port and the analog speaker/headset device. There are no USB camera or USB headset outputs on this variant and microphone support is intentionally disabled. The device requires no external power supply and operates within standard USB power limits.

Common applications include secure conference rooms, classified workspaces, and any location that requires acoustic data protection where analog speakers or headsets are used. The FA10BO-4 is suitable for IT security teams, facility managers, and systems integrators who need a hardware control to enforce audio data flow policies. Its NIAP PP4.0 compliance helps satisfy procurement and security evaluation requirements.

Installation is straightforward and non-invasive – place the unit on the desktop or mount as needed, connect host USB and analog audio lines, and use the push-button to control access when unattended. The enclosure is compact and durable for everyday use and the product is supported by a 2 year warranty and a defined 10 year life-cycle. The FA10BO-4 combines simple deployment with certification-backed protection for sensitive audio channels.
