Description
The PS-4001 is a 4-channel switching power supply engineered to provide reliable DC power distribution for wired intercom user stations. It supplies regulated 24VDC at up to 2.0 amps and fits a half-width 1RU rack space or desktop. The unit includes front-panel status indicators and protections to maintain station uptime.
Key features include switchable balanced or unbalanced 3-pin XLR outputs, per-channel auto load distribution fault detection, and overload/short circuit protection with automatic reset. Front panel LEDs identify channel status using green for normal operation and red for overload or short circuit conditions. Rubber feet are provided for secure desktop placement when not rack-mounted.
Technically, the PS-4001 accepts universal 100-240VAC 50/60Hz input and delivers 24VDC +/-1V, 2A output capacity across four independent channels. Each channel is monitored for load distribution faults to prevent single-channel failure from affecting the entire system. The supply’s switching topology enables efficient operation across the AC mains range and reduces heat dissipation in the chassis.
Connectivity includes four 3-pin XLR male outputs that can be set to balanced or unbalanced operation, a 15-pin D-sub ES-4000A connector for system integration, and a standard 3-prong AC power input. These options provide compatibility with common wired intercom ecosystems and allow simple integration into existing audio infrastructure. The switchable XLR wiring supports both Audiocom and Clearcom wiring conventions.
The PS-4001 is well suited to production trucks, broadcast studios, small fixed install racks, and desktop intercom setups where compact, protected power is required. Its half-width 1RU form factor makes it practical for tight equipment racks and system frames. The per-channel monitoring simplifies troubleshooting during live operations and reduces mean time to repair.
Installation is straightforward for AV technicians: mount the unit in a 1RU rack shelf or place on a desktop using the supplied rubber feet. Front-panel LEDs and auto-reset protection simplify fault diagnosis and recovery under load conditions. The metal chassis provides robust mechanical protection suitable for touring and studio environments.
