Description
The RTS PHS-A4M-300 is a single-sided broadcast headset designed for extended on-air use and crew comfort. It pairs a wide-band dynamic earphone with a semi-rigid adjustable boom for accurate microphone placement. The headset is engineered for noise-critical environments where clear speech intelligibility is required.
Key features include a boom-mounted noise-canceling dynamic microphone and high-quality wide-band earphones. The ear cushions are covered in leatherette to improve fit and passive isolation. The boom is fully rotatable so the microphone can be positioned for right or left side use.
Technical performance delivers an earphone impedance rated at 300 Ohms ±20% at 1 kHz and a declared frequency response of 200 Hz – 10 kHz. Two sensitivity points are specified for 150 Ohm and 300 Ohm load conditions to describe output behavior. The microphone element is a noise-canceling dynamic type with a frequency response of 200 Hz – 6.5 kHz and a sensitivity of -63 dB ±3.5 dB re 1V/Pa at 1 kHz.
Connectivity is provided via a 4-pin male XLR connector compatible with common broadcast intercom systems. The headset includes a 6ft cord (1.8m) measured to the earshell and is available in a black and stainless steel finish. The semi-rigid boom and adjustable headband support quick field adjustments and reliable repeatable positioning.
This headset is suitable for broadcast production, ENG, commentary, and intercom operator use where single-ear monitoring and clear talkback are required. It reduces listener fatigue through improved passive noise reduction and a lightweight profile. The design supports long shifts without sacrificing speech clarity or comfort.
Build quality focuses on comfort and durability – soft, pliable ear cushions and headband pads minimize pressure points. The unit is ultra-lightweight to reduce strain during daylong use and the semi-rigid boom maintains precise microphone positioning. The RTS PHS-A4M-300 balances isolation, microphone performance, and operator comfort for consistent field and studio operation.
