The BTR-80N FE is a 2-channel UHF wireless intercom base station designed for professional broadcast and live production communications. It provides full-duplex access for up to four wireless beltpacks and includes an integrated headset talk/listen station at the base. The unit operates in the 554-572MHz transmit and 650-668MHz receive ranges and offers frequency agility for congested RF environments.
Key features include Enhanced ClearScan 2-button channel selection, DSP digital audio processing, combination tone code and RF noise squelch, and a transparent menu-driven graphical user interface with a backlit display. The base supports simultaneous operation of four beltpacks and can be expanded for larger systems. A dedicated front-panel headset offers headset and boom-mic volume and gain controls for a fifth simultaneous user.
Performance-oriented design provides a selectable transmit power level and an industry-leading 25kHz modulated bandwidth to maximize user capacity per channel. The system uses independent 18MHz frequency bands and factory-selected preset frequency groups for simplified deployment. Rated operating range is approximately 1000 ft under typical conditions, subject to line-of-sight and RF environment.
Connectivity includes XLR balanced auxiliary audio input and output for integration into production audio chains and matrix systems. The BTR-80N is compatible with Audiocom, Clear-Com, and RTS matrix wired and wireless intercoms and provides dedicated 2-wire XLE and 4-wire RJ-11 connectors. Front-panel controls include independent Portable Station enable/disable buttons with LED status indicators and an auto-detect headset mic input that accepts dynamic or electret boom microphones.
The unit is well suited to broadcast trucks, OB vans, theater productions, and live events where reliable multi-user wireless intercom is required. Use cases include stage-to-control communications, director-to-talent coordination, and multi-zone event communications when wired infrastructure is unavailable or impractical. Enhanced ClearScan and frequency-agile operation reduce interference and intermodulation issues in crowded RF environments.
