Description
The BTR-80N is a 2-channel UHF wireless intercom base station designed to provide multi-user full-duplex communications in congested UHF environments. It supports a dedicated talk/listen headset station at the base and direct access from multiple beltpacks. The unit combines frequency agility and a clear graphical interface for straightforward operation.
Key features include frequency agility across the C3 band, Enhanced ClearScan channel search, combination tone code/RF noise squelch and DSP-based digital audio processing. The base supports simultaneous connection of up to four full-duplex beltpacks and can be expanded for larger systems. A front-panel headset station adds a fifth simultaneous user for directors or engineers.
Technical specifications include coverage of the C3 band with transmit and receive allocations, a narrow 25kHz modulated bandwidth for increased channel density, and a selectable transmit power level. The unit provides a reliable operating range of approximately 1000 ft under typical conditions and factory selected preset frequency groups for quick deployment. The BTR-80N also includes stage announce output with relay closure for staged workflows.
Connectivity options include a front headset jack that auto-detects dynamic or electret boom mics, XLR balanced auxiliary audio input and output, and dedicated 2-wire XLE and 4-wire RJ-11 connectors for wired intercom integration. The product is compatible with Audiocom, Clear-Com and RTS matrix wired and wireless intercom systems. Dual-voltage power support enables international operation.
Common applications include multi-camera production, live event communications, theatre and broadcast stage management where quiet, full-duplex wireless intercom is required. The Enhanced ClearScan feature reduces interference and intermodulation risk in challenging RF environments. The talk/listen base station and beltpack support enable coordinated crew communication across production zones.
Installation is simplified by a transparent, menu-driven graphical user interface on a backlit LCD and independent front portable station enable/disable buttons with LED status indicators. Robust industrial design and international power compatibility support long deployments and touring scenarios. The BTR-80N focuses on dependable intercom performance and predictable RF behavior in high-density deployments.
