Description
The BTR-80N is a 2-channel UHF wireless intercom base station designed to provide multi-user full-duplex intercom communications with reliable RF performance. It operates in the B3 band with A5F headset jack connectivity and supports a front panel talk/listen headset station. The system is optimized for location and production use where clear, interference-managed wireless intercom is required.
Key features include frequency agility, Enhanced ClearScan automatic frequency selection, and support for up to four full-duplex beltpacks with expandability options. The base also includes a stage announce output with relay closure and wireless talk-around (ISO) capability. Front panel controls allow independent enable/disable of portable stations and visual LED status indicators.
Audio is processed using DSP digital audio processing and a combination tone code/RF noise squelch for improved intelligibility and channel stability. The receiver/transmitter configuration in C3 provides 554-572MHz transmit and 650-668MHz receive coverage and the system uses a 25kHz modulated bandwidth to maximize channel capacity. Transmit power level selection and factory preset frequency groups simplify deployment in congested RF environments.
Connectivity includes an A5F headset jack that auto-detects dynamic or electret boom microphones and a full talk/listen headset station with dedicated headset volume and boom mic gain controls. Integration with wired intercom systems is supported via dedicated 2-wire XLE and 4-wire RJ-11 connectors. Balanced auxiliary audio input and output are available on XLR connectors for program or stage feed purposes.
The BTR-80N is suited to live production, broadcast, and event staging where reliable wireless intercom and clear channel selection are essential. It supports isolated talk-around and stage announce functions to coordinate talent and crew, and the front headset station permits a fifth simultaneous user such as a director or engineer. Compatibility with Audiocom, Clear-Com and RTS matrix systems eases system integration.
Installation and daily operation are simplified by a large backlit LCD and a transparent menu-driven graphical user interface for assignment and navigation.
