Description
The RTS BTR-800 is a UHF synthesized 2-channel wireless intercom base station designed to provide reliable full-duplex communications across a broad UHF range. It supports up to four beltpacks and offers simultaneous talk and listen capability for production crews. The unit is engineered for line-of-sight operation and expandable range using external antennas.
The BTR-800 supports two separate intercom audio channels so operators can select party line or private communications as required. Frequency-agile operation and ClearScan channel selection simplify frequency management and reduce interference risks. The base station provides stage announce and wireless talk-around functions for common production workflows.
Technical performance includes operation across 470-608 MHz and 614-740 MHz bands in 18 MHz TX and RX segments and an RF frequency stability of 0.005. Transmit power settings include 100 mW max and 10 mW normal, and modulation is FM with a 40 kHz deviation (35 kHz Europe). Audio frequency response is 300 Hz to 8 kHz and local headset output is 40 mW into 600 Ohm.
Connectivity covers adjustable 4-wire input and output levels, auxiliary balanced input and output, and TNC antenna connectors for supplied 1/2 Wave antennas. The base station interfaces with Audiocom, RTS Two-Wire, Clear-Com and other four-wire intercom and digital matrix systems. An IEC mains connector and rackmount/tabletop form factor simplify system integration.
Typical applications include live event communications, broadcast production intercom, and theatre stage operations where secure, simultaneous two-way talk is required. The system accommodates beltpacks with stage announce and wireless talk-around controls for remote operator functions. With alkaline battery beltpacks and 12 hour beltpack life, the system supports extended shifts without frequent battery changes.
The BTR-800 is built for dependable field use with rackmountable construction and weather and shock resistant beltpacks. A backlit LCD on the base station provides clear status monitoring of connected beltpacks. Installation is straightforward with adjustable audio levels, relay contacts for stage announce, and compatibility with common wired intercom standards.
