Description

The BTR-800 UHF synthesized base station is a two-channel wireless intercom hub designed for full-duplex communications between a base and up to four beltpacks. It operates across the 470-740 MHz range and supports frequency-agile operation for dependable RF performance. The system is built to provide clear intercom audio in challenging production and live-event environments.

The unit provides two independent intercom audio channels that the beltpack operator can select, enabling party-line and private-channel workflows. The base supports full-duplex simultaneous talk and listen operation and includes WTA (Wireless Talk About) and SA (Stage Announce) controls for common production needs. ClearScan channel selection and frequency-agile beltpacks minimize interference and simplify setup.

Technically, the base contains two synthesized transmitters with 712 channels each and supports transmit power levels of 100 mW max and 10 mW normal. Frequency stability and FM modulation with a peak-responding compressor ensure consistent RF and audio performance. The system delivers a frequency response of 300 Hz to 8 kHz and headset output rated at 40 mW into 600 ohms.

Connectivity includes adjustable four-wire input and output (2 Vrms typical), auxiliary balanced input and output, and an IEC power connector for reliable AC power. The BTR-800 interfaces with Audiocom, RTS Two-Wire, Clear-Com and other wired intercom systems via standard four-wire connections. Antenna ports use TNC male connectors and a supplied 1/2-wave antenna for immediate deployment.

Typical applications include broadcast control rooms, live-event communications, theater stage management and mobile production where wireless intercom capacity and channel separation are required. The system supports both binaural stereo or mono beltpacks and a maximum of four users for compact team operations. Stage announce relay and talk-around features support common show-control workflows.

Installation is straightforward with rackmount or table placement and an IEC power inlet for standard AC power. The beltpacks are housed in die-cast magnesium for weather and shock resistance and use standard alkaline batteries for up to 12 hours of operation. Front-panel LCDs and ClearScan functions simplify monitoring and channel selection, reducing setup time and maintenance.
