Description
The BTR-800 base station is a UHF-synthesized wireless intercom hub designed to provide full-duplex communications between a central base and up to four beltpacks. It delivers two independent audio channels that allow simultaneous party line and private line operation – enabling flexible group and private communications in the same system. The unit operates in H3 band ranges and supports reliable line-of-sight coverage for typical event and broadcast distances.
The system offers frequency-agile transmitters and beltpacks with ClearScan channel selection and a backlit base station LCD for status monitoring. Full-duplex operation supports simultaneous talk and listen functions while wireless talk-around and stage announce controls extend usability on stage or in the field. The base supports two synthesized transmitters with hundreds of user-selectable channels to minimize interference in congested RF environments.
Technically, the BTR-800 operates across 470 – 608 MHz and 614 – 740 MHz in 18 MHz TX/RX bands and provides adjustable transmit power settings up to 100 mW. Audio performance spans 300 Hz to 8 kHz and local headset output is rated at 40 mW into 600 ohm with 1% distortion at rated conditions. The system includes modulation limiting via a peak-responding compressor and RF frequency stability to maintain reliable links in variable conditions.
Connectivity includes level-adjustable 4-wire input and output, auxiliary balanced audio input and output, and a convenient IEC mains connector for power. The base station interfaces to Audiocom, RTS Two-Wire, Clear-Com and other four-wire intercom matrices, and provides a stage-announce relay dry contact for external systems. Supplied 1/2 wave antennas use TNC male connectors for transmit and receive ports and antenna systems can be added to extend range.
Typical applications include live event communications, broadcast production talkback, theatre stage communications and corporate A/V systems requiring wireless beltpacks. The two-channel audio routing supports creating party lines plus private channels for managers or technical staff. With wireless talk-around and stage announce features, crews can maintain clear monitoring and direct stage feeds as needed.
The BTR-800 is designed for rackmount or table use and includes robust mechanical construction for reliable field operation. Beltpack units are housed in weather- and shock-resistant die-cast magnesium for durability during transport and use. Setup and operation are straightforward using the base station LCD, ClearScan channel selection and standard IEC power connection for quick deployment in professional environments.
