Description

The BTR-800 is a UHF synthesized base station engineered to provide reliable full-duplex wireless intercom communications. It supports two independent audio channels and up to four beltpacks, enabling separate party and private lines on a single system. The unit operates across 470-740 MHz and is suitable for table or rack mounting.

Key features include frequency-agile operation, ClearScan automatic channel selection, and a backlit LCD on the base station for status monitoring. The system supports full-duplex simultaneous talk and listen, stage announce and wireless talk-around controls, and binaural two-channel operation on compatible beltpacks. Transmit power selection and a peak-responding compressor help maintain consistent audio levels.

Technically, the base station contains two synthesized transmitters with 712 channels each and operates in 18 MHz TX/RX bands across the specified UHF range. Frequency stability is 0.005 and deviation is 40 kHz (35 kHz Europe). Frequency response is 300 Hz – 8 kHz and the system provides a 40 mW local headset output into 600 ohms with 1% distortion.

Connectivity includes level-adjustable 4-wire input/output and auxiliary inputs/outputs (2 Vrms typical), an IEC mains connector for 100-240 VAC power, and TNC antenna connectors for supplied 1/2 wave antennas. The stage announce feature provides an internally adjustable output and a dry contact relay rated at 1 Amp, 24V max. The base station interfaces with Audiocom, RTS two-wire, Clear-Com and other four-wire intercom systems.

Typical applications include live production, broadcast studios, and event staging where reliable, low-latency full-duplex voice communications are required. The system supports line-of-sight operation of approximately 1,000 feet under standard antenna configurations and range can be extended using optional RadioCom antenna systems. Beltpack operation uses standard alkaline batteries with approximately 12 hours runtime.

Installation and operation are straightforward with rackmount/table placement options, an IEC power inlet, and clear front-panel status readout. The rugged beltpacks are housed in die-cast magnesium cases for shock and weather resistance, and the system is designed to integrate with existing wired intercom infrastructures. Overall, the BTR-800 delivers a compact, integration-friendly UHF intercom solution with two audio channels and full-duplex operation.
