Description
The TR-80N is a compact UHF narrowband two-channel wireless beltpack designed to operate with the BTR-80N base stations. This unit provides reliable wireless intercom communications for production and live-event environments. It is engineered for field use and built to withstand the demands of stage and broadcast work.
Key features include a cast magnesium case, an LCD graphical user interface, a receiver RF meter, stage announce activation and wireless talk-around functionality. The beltpack also includes enhanced ClearScan for frequency management and detachable antennas for flexible deployment. Controls are arranged for quick access including channel select and talk buttons.
Technically the TR-80N is a synthesized UHF narrowband two-channel beltpack that supports auto-sensing headset mic switching between electret and dynamic microphones. Battery power is supplied by six AA cells with NiMH cells supported as an option. The unit is specified to operate across a -20 C to 55 C temperature range to support a wide range of environmental conditions.
Connectivity is straightforward with an auto-sensing headset connector that automatically switches microphone bias to match electret or dynamic headsets. The beltpack provides on/off and volume control, a BAT/OM LED indicator for low battery or overmodulation alerts, and a receiver RF meter for monitoring link quality. Antenna ports are detachable to accommodate different mounting or transport needs.
The TR-80N is suitable for stage crews, live-event staff, broadcast engineers and production technicians who need a reliable two-channel wireless user station. It supports stage announce and talk-around features for local communication and isolation as required during rehearsals and performances. The beltpack is useful wherever a compact, rugged wireless intercom user station is required.
Installation and daily operation are straightforward with an intuitive LCD interface and tactile controls for channel selection and push-to-talk. The magnesium housing provides impact resistance while keeping weight low for wearable use. Routine battery changes and headset swaps are quick thanks to accessible connectors and detachable antennas.
