Description
The TR-80N is a compact UHF narrowband two-channel wireless beltpack designed to operate with the BTR-80N baserack. This beltpack provides clear intercom audio and channel selection in a portable form factor. It is intended for professional production and broadcast talkback where reliable wireless beltpacks are required.
The unit features an LCD graphical user interface that presents receiver RF levels and status information. It has an audio channel select button and visible talk and battery/overmodulation indicators for operator feedback. The beltpack also supports stage announce and wireless talk-around (ISO) for flexible talkback topologies.
Construction uses an all-metal cast magnesium case to resist physical abuse while maintaining a lightweight profile. The TR-80N includes an auto-sensing headset connector that switches automatically between electret and dynamic headset microphones. Detachable antennas improve transport and allow antenna placement optimization on the fly.
Power is provided by six AA cells using Alkaline by default with NiMH cells optional for rechargeable use. Operating temperature range spans -20°C to 55°C to accommodate a wide range of environments. The unit reports receiver RF meter readings on the display to aid in RF troubleshooting and deployment planning.
Connectivity and integration are straightforward – the beltpack pairs to the BTR-80N base station and supports standard RTS intercom headset interfaces. Enhanced ClearScan and frequency-agile narrowband synthesis reduce interference risk and simplify channel selection in busy RF environments. Detachable antennas and the robust case enable use in mobile and fixed installations.
Installation and day-to-day operation are simple due to clear front-panel controls and the LCD GUI. The TR-80N offers professional-grade controls such as stage announce and talk-around for stage and broadcast workflows. Overall the beltpack delivers a compact, rugged option for two-channel wireless intercom applications where battery operation and headset compatibility are required.
