Description
The RTS TR-800 TR-800 H3 US is a UHF two-channel wireless intercom beltpack designed to operate as a user station with the BTR-800. It provides hands-on control of intercom audio and channel selection while remaining compact for belt mounting. The beltpack supports band H3 and a 4M headset interface for robust communications in live production environments.
The unit features individual volume controls for each channel, an LCD graphical user interface for status and menu navigation, stage announce activation and wireless talk around functionality. It includes enhanced ClearScan frequency management, detachable screw-type 1/4 wave antennas for TX and RX, and an auto-sensing headset connector that switches between electret and dynamic microphone types. Dedicated indicators such as Bat/Overmod and Talk light improve operational awareness.
Performance metrics include an RF frequency range of 470 – 608 MHz and 614 – 740 MHz in 18 MHz TX and RX bands, a 300 Hz to 8 kHz audio frequency response, and RF sensitivity below 0.7 for 12 dB SINAD. The design uses dual conversion superheterodyne synthesis with FM and supports up to 712 channels. Distortion is under 1 percent at full deviation, and the unit delivers 40 mW into 600 ohm at 1 percent distortion on the local headset output.
Connectivity is straightforward with a screw-type replaceable antenna connector for both transmit and receive, an auto-sensing headset jack that detects electret or dynamic mics, and a local headset output. The beltpack integrates with RTS BTR-800 base systems and follows standard intercom signaling such as talk and talk-around. Controls include on/off and volume plus an audio channel select button and push-to-talk functionality.
The TR-800 suits live production, broadcast, theater, and touring applications where reliable, frequency-agile wireless intercom is required. It supports stage announce for routed stage audio and wireless talk around to allow local monitoring without base station routing. The compact beltpack format and rugged construction make it practical for crew members, stage managers, and broadcast technicians.
Installation and daily operation are simplified by AA battery power with NiMH optional cells, clear front-panel controls and status lights, and a cast magnesium chassis for durable field use. The LCD GUI and enhanced ClearScan reduce setup time for frequency coordination, while detachable antennas and a replaceable screw connector enable field serviceability. These features deliver a durable, easy-to-integrate wireless beltpack for professional intercom systems.
