Description

The RTS TR-800 is a UHF two-channel wireless beltpack designed for professional intercom systems. It provides dual-channel audio communication in UHF bands and is made for field and fixed deployments where reliable wireless intercom is required. The unit supports Band A3 frequency ranges and ships configured for 4M headset use.

Key features include independent volume control, a graphical LCD user interface, detachable antennas and an auto-sensing headset connector that switches between electret and dynamic microphones. It also supports Wireless Talk Around (WTA) and Stage Announce (SA) functions for flexible communications on stage or in broadcast environments. Enhanced ClearScan simplifies frequency selection to reduce interference.

Technical performance includes a frequency response of 300 Hz to 8 kHz and RF sensitivity rated at less than 0.7 for 12 dB SINAD. The receiver architecture is dual conversion superheterodyne, synthesized FM supporting up to 712 channels with RF frequency stability of 0.005. Distortion is under 1% at full deviation to maintain intelligible speech.

Connectivity and controls are straightforward with an auto-sensing headset connector, screw-type replaceable antennas, an audio channel select button, talk button, talk light and bat/overmod indicator. Local headset output delivers 40 mW output and the unit accepts six AA cells with NiMH battery option for rechargeable operation. The design also includes a cast magnesium case for durability in demanding environments.

The TR-800 is suitable for live production, broadcast, theater and event staging where secure two-channel wireless intercom is required.
