Description
The TR-800 is a two-channel UHF wireless beltpack designed to operate with the BTR-800 base station. It provides reliable wireless intercom connectivity across band B3 and supports compatible 5F headsets. The unit offers user-friendly controls and rugged construction for continuous use in live and broadcast environments.
Key features include individual volume controls for each audio channel, stage announce and wireless talk around functions, and an auto-sensing headset connector that switches between electret and dynamic microphone types. The TR-800 uses detachable screw-type antennas and provides an LCD graphical user interface for easy status monitoring. The beltpack is frequency-agile and supports enhanced ClearScan for frequency management.
Technically the TR-800 operates across TX and RX UHF bands covering 470-608 MHz and 614-740 MHz in 18 MHz blocks and supports 712 synthesized FM channels. Frequency response is 300 Hz to 8 kHz and RF sensitivity is specified at less than 0.7 for 12 dB SINAD. Distortion is held below 1 at full deviation while RF frequency stability is 0.005 to maintain consistent performance.
Connectivity includes a replaceable 1/4 wave screw-type antenna for both TX and RX and an auto-sensing headset jack for electret or dynamic mics. Local headset output delivers 40 mW into 600 ohm at 1% distortion and the unit offers push-to-talk and talk light indicators. Power is supplied by six AA alkaline cells with NiMH as an optional battery type.
The TR-800 is suited to stage intercom, OB trucks, rental inventories, and broadcast crews that need two independent channels on a compact beltpack. Its stage announce and WTA functions allow flexible local routing and sidetone for onstage communication. The beltpack supports common intercom workflows where dependable RF performance and clear audio are required.
Installation and day-to-day operation are straightforward thanks to the LCD graphical interface, detachable antennas, and simple push-button controls. The cast magnesium all-metal housing improves durability while maintaining manageable weight on the belt. Routine maintenance is minimal and the unit accepts standard AA cells for field serviceability.
