Description
The RTS TR-800 is a two-channel UHF wireless beltpack designed to provide reliable wireless intercom communication in band B3 environments. It offers frequency-agile operation across wide UHF ranges and an LCD based graphical user interface for clear status and control. The unit is built in an all-metal cast magnesium case to withstand demanding production environments.
Key features include individual volume controls, an auto-sensing headset connector that switches between electret and dynamic headset microphones, and detachable antennas for flexible deployment. The TR-800 supports Wireless Talk Around (WTA) and Stage Announce (SA) functions to enhance onstage and back-of-house communication. Enhanced ClearScan and a synthesized FM receiver provide robust channel selection and reduced interference.
Technically the TR-800 operates across RF frequency ranges of 470-608 MHz and 614-740 MHz in 18 MHz TX and RX bands and offers a frequency response of 300 Hz to 8 kHz. The radio uses dual conversion superheterodyne architecture and provides 712 synthesized FM channels. RF sensitivity and stability metrics support consistent receive performance in congested RF environments.
Connectivity includes screw-type, replaceable 1/4 wave antennas for TX and RX and a local headset output rated at 40 mW into 600W (1% distortion). Controls and indicators include On/Off and volume control, audio channel select, talk button, talk light, Bat/Overmod light and an LCD GUI. Power is supplied by six AA cells with NiMH battery options available for rechargeable operation.
The TR-800 is suitable for live events, broadcast studios and theatre use where multi-channel wireless intercom is required. It is intended for use with BTR-800 base stations and integrates into existing RTS wireless intercom ecosystems. The beltpack form factor and detachable antennas make it practical for mobile stage crew and talent.
Installation and operation are straightforward thanks to the auto-sensing headset connector and the LCD graphical user interface that simplify headset setup and channel selection. The rugged magnesium case and replaceable antennas support repeated use and field maintenance. Overall the TR-800 balances compact form factor with professional wireless intercom capability and reliable RF performance.
