Description
The BTR-800 Base Station is a frequency-agile UHF wireless intercom base designed to provide reliable full-duplex voice communications. It supports up to four beltpacks and offers two separate audio channels to create party lines and private lines within the same system. The unit operates across the C3 band frequency ranges to maintain robust RF links in the 470 to 740 MHz allocations.
The system includes two synthesized transmitters with 712 channels each and ClearScan automatic channel selection to find the best operating frequencies. It supports full-duplex simultaneous talk and listen operation and provides stage announce and wireless talk-around controls on beltpacks. The TR-825 beltpack supports binaural operation in stereo or mono mode to accommodate different headset needs.
Technically the base station offers selectable transmit power up to 100 mW high and 10 mW normal, FM modulation with 40 kHz deviation (35 kHz in Europe), and RF frequency stability of 0.005. The audio chain delivers two channels of intercom audio and a frequency response of 300 Hz to 8 kHz. Typical battery life for beltpacks using standard alkaline batteries is about 12 hours under normal use.
Connectivity includes level-adjustable 4-wire input/output, auxiliary balanced input and output, a local headset jack (A5F) and a supplied 1/2 wave antenna with TNC male connectors for transmit and receive. The base station interfaces with Audiocom, RTS Two-Wire Intercom, Clear-Com and RTS Digital Matrix systems as well as other four-wire comms systems. An IEC power connector provides universal AC power support from 100 to 240 VAC at 50-60 Hz.
Typical applications include live event production, broadcast and on-location workflows, theatrical stage communications and multi-camera productions where a lightweight wireless intercom is required. The dual-audio channel design lets technical crews partition communication flows while maintaining a single beltpack per user. Range is line-of-sight up to approximately 1,000 feet and can be extended using optional RadioCom antenna systems.
The BTR-800 is rackmountable or usable on a table top and features a backlit LCD for easy monitoring of beltpack status and system settings. The base station is built for reliable daily operation and includes a modulation limiter and peak-responding compressor to maintain intelligible audio under varying voice levels. Overall the product provides a compact, system-compatible wireless intercom solution for professional AV and broadcast environments.
