Description
The UHF frequency-agile base station is a compact wireless intercom controller designed to provide reliable full-duplex voice communications across UHF bands. It supports two separate intercom audio channels allowing operators to select between party-line and private-line conversations. The base station is engineered for professional AV and broadcast applications where clear, simultaneous talk and listen communications are required.
Key features include synthesized twin transmitters with extensive channel capacity, selectable transmit power levels, and an LCD for beltpack status monitoring. The system supports full-duplex operation, two audio channels, wireless talk-around and stage announce functionality. The base station also provides relay contact closure for stage announce control and adjustable auxiliary audio I/O.
Performance specifications include UHF operation across 470 – 608 MHz and 614 – 740 MHz in 18 MHz TX and RX bands. The system offers up to 100 mW transmit power in high mode and 10 mW in normal mode, frequency stability of 0.005, FM modulation with a 40 kHz deviation, and frequency-agile synthesized transmitters with 712 channels each. The beltpack battery life is approximately 12 hrs using standard alkaline batteries and the frequency response is 300 Hz – 8 kHz.
Connectivity is comprehensive for integration into existing comms infrastructures. The unit includes level-adjustable 4-wire input and output, adjustable auxiliary input and output, microphone input, and local headset output. Antenna connections use TNC male connectors and the supplied antenna is a 1/2 wave type; power is provided via an IEC receptacle accepting 100-240 VAC 50-60 Hz.
Typical applications include live event production, broadcast studios, theatrical stage management, and corporate events where multi-user wireless intercom is required. The system supports up to four beltpacks, enabling small crew communications while maintaining separate audio channels. Its wireless talk-around and stage announce features simplify on-site coordination and FOH/stage signaling.
Installation and operation are straightforward with table or rackmount options and a backlit LCD for real-time status monitoring. The units are designed for durability and on-site use, with beltpacks built into weather and shock resistant die-cast magnesium housings. ClearScan channel selection and standard IEC power simplify setup and maintenance.
