The BTR-800 is a UHF synthesized wireless intercom base station designed to provide reliable full-duplex voice communications between a base and up to four beltpacks. It supports two independent intercom audio channels so operators can select between a party line and a private line. The base is frequency-agile and built for professional AV and broadcast environments where clear, simultaneous talk and listen capability is required.
Key features include two audio channels, ClearScan channel selection, a backlit LCD for beltpack status monitoring, and an A4F headset jack on the base. The unit supports Wireless Talk-Around (WTA) and Stage Announce (SA) functions and offers relay contact closure for stage announce control. The TR-series beltpacks can operate binaurally in stereo or mono modes, and the system supports a mix of high and normal transmit power levels.
Technically the BTR-800 operates in the 470-608 MHz and 614-740 MHz bands across 18 MHz TX/RX allocations and provides up to 100 mW transmit power in high mode and 10 mW in normal mode. The base supports two synthesized transmitters with 712 channels each and a user capacity of four beltpacks. Frequency response covers 300 Hz to 8 kHz and the beltpacks provide approximately 12 hours typical battery life on standard alkaline cells.
Connectivity options include level-adjustable 4-wire input/output, adjustable auxiliary input and output, a local headset output, and an IEC mains connector for AC power. The base interfaces with Audiocom, RTS Two-Wire, Clear-Com and other four-wire intercom systems, and provides a 1/2-wave antenna with TNC male connectors for TX and RX. Stage announce output and a dry-contact relay are included for integration with external systems.
The BTR-800 is suited to live events, theatre productions, broadcast trucks, and fixed installations where coordinated crew communications are needed. It enables mixed party-line and private-channel workflows so production teams can manage FOH, stage, and technical communications simultaneously. The ClearScan function simplifies RF channel selection in congested UHF environments.
Installation is straightforward with table or rackmount options and a standard IEC power inlet. The base station provides durable construction and straightforward front-panel controls while beltpacks are housed in weather and shock resistant die-cast magnesium.
