The BTR-800 is a UHF synthesized wireless intercom base station designed to provide reliable full-duplex communications between a central base and up to four beltpacks. It supports two independent audio channels that allow beltpack users to select between a party line and a private line. The base offers frequency agility across the 470 to 740 MHz range to maintain clear links in congested RF environments.
Key features include two audio channels, full-duplex operation, ClearScan automatic channel selection, and support for wireless talk-around and stage announce functions. The base station supports connections to Audiocom, RTS Two-Wire, Clear-Com and other four-wire intercom systems. A backlit LCD displays beltpack status and facilitates real-time monitoring.
Performance specifications include operation across 470-608 MHz and 614-740 MHz bands, up to 100 mW transmit power, FM modulation with 40 kHz deviation (35 kHz Europe), and a frequency stability of 0.005. Typical beltpack battery life is about 12 hours using standard alkaline cells and the system supports up to four users concurrently. Frequency response is 300 Hz to 8 kHz for clear intelligibility.
The base provides balanced 4-wire input/output with level adjustment, auxiliary balanced input and output, a local A5F headset jack, and an IEC power connector for universal AC operation. Antenna connections use TNC male connectors and the supplied 1/2 wave antenna; optional antenna systems can extend operating range beyond the typical 1,000 ft line-of-sight. The stage announce relay is a dry contact rated at 1 Amp and 24V max.
Typical applications include broadcast and live production communications, staging and event crew coordination, and theatrical intercom where multiple channels and private/party-line flexibility are required.
