Description
The BTR-800 is a UHF synthesized wireless intercom base station engineered to provide full-duplex radio intercom communications for broadcast, live event, and production teams. It operates in F3 band frequencies and supports up to four beltpacks for two independent audio channels. The unit ships in a rackmount form factor and includes an A4F headset jack for local monitoring.
The system offers two simultaneous audio channels that allow beltpack users to select between a party line and a private line. ClearScan channel selection automatically finds the best available channels and two synthesized transmitters provide numerous channels for flexible frequency planning. The base station supports wireless talk-around and stage announce features to streamline onsite communications.
Technical performance is centered on UHF FM modulation with a 40 kHz deviation standard (35 kHz for Europe) and RF stability specified at 0.005. Transmit power is selectable up to 100 mW (high) or 10 mW (normal) and the system reliably covers typical line-of-sight distances of about 1,000 ft without external antennas. Frequency coverage includes 470 – 608 MHz and 614 – 740 MHz in 18 MHz TX and RX bands.
Connectivity includes level-adjustable four-wire input and output, adjustable auxiliary input and output, a local headset output and a microphone input. The base station interfaces with Audiocom, RTS two-wire intercom, Clear-Com and other four-wire or digital matrix intercom systems. An IEC mains inlet provides power connectivity and an onboard stage announce relay offers externally switchable contact closure.
Typical applications include broadcast ENG and studio intercom, live event production comms, and theater stage communications. The BTR-800 provides a two-channel full-duplex link for mobile beltpacks and supports stage announce and wireless talk-around for redundancy during performances. Its user capacity and audio routing capabilities make it suited to mixed party/private line workflows.
Installation is straightforward for rack or tabletop mounting and the base station uses standard IEC mains power for broad compatibility. The chassis and beltpacks are designed for reliable field service and the system supports optional antenna upgrades to extend range. Overall the BTR-800 provides a robust wireless intercom foundation for professional audio teams seeking dependable full-duplex wireless communications.
