Description
The BTR-800 base station is a frequency-agile UHF wireless intercom hub designed to provide reliable full-duplex communications. It operates across 470-740 MHz and supports up to four beltpacks for two independent audio channels. The system provides both party-line and private-line operation in a compact rackmount or table-top form factor.
The base station supports two separate intercom audio channels so operators can select between party line and private line communications. It uses synthesized transmitters with ClearScan to find the best available channels and offers transmit power modes for long-range or low-power operation. A backlit LCD gives instant visibility into beltpack status and channel selection.
Performance specifications include a frequency range covering 470-608 MHz and 614-740 MHz in 18 MHz TX and RX bands, transmit power selectable up to 100 mW, and a typical frequency response of 300 Hz to 8 kHz. The system supports four users simultaneously and standard alkaline battery operation with about 12 hours of beltpack life. RF stability and a peak-responding modulation limiter maintain clear, consistent audio under varying conditions.
Connectivity options include adjustable level 4-wire input and output, auxiliary balanced audio input and output, and a local A4M headset jack on the base. The unit interfaces with Audiocom, RTS Two-Wire Intercom, Clear-Com and other four-wire intercom systems as well as RTS Digital Matrix systems. Stage announce and wireless talk-around controls are provided for flexible event workflows.
Typical applications include broadcast studios, live events, OB vehicles and theatrical productions where reliable full-duplex wireless intercom is required. The unit supports both binaural and mono headset operation on compatible beltpacks, allowing engineers to tailor audio monitoring to the task. With supplied half-wave antennas and optional antenna systems, range can be extended beyond the nominal line-of-sight distance.
Installation is straightforward for audio professionals – the BTR-800 is rackmountable or usable on a table and uses an IEC power connector for mains input. The die-cast magnesium beltpacks provide weather and shock resistance for field use while the base station offers durable rack-grade construction. Controls and status indicators are arranged for clear operational feedback and fast troubleshooting.
