Description
The TR-82N is a compact UHF beltpack designed to provide reliable two-channel communication in production and broadcast environments. It supports narrow band UHF operation in Band FE and enables users to monitor two separate channels simultaneously. The unit is engineered for field use with robust construction and intuitive controls.
Key features include dual-listen capability so one ear can monitor ‘Tech’ while the other monitors ‘Production’, plus individual volume controls for each channel. Visual and tactile indicators such as the BAT/OM light, talk light, and receiver RF meter provide immediate status feedback. Additional features include stage announce activation, wireless talk around, and an LCD graphical user interface for clear operation.
Technically the beltpack is a two-channel, narrow band UHF user station that operates on Band FE and accepts a detachable antenna configuration. Power is supplied by six AA cells with support for NiMH rechargeable packs. The auto-sensing headset connector supports both electret and dynamic microphones and the unit houses an enhanced ClearScan capability to simplify frequency management.
Connectivity is centered on the auto-sensing headset jack and detachable antennas for flexible placement and RF performance optimization. The receiver RF meter and LCD GUI help technicians verify signal strength and channel selection. Controls include on/off, master volume, a dedicated talk button, and stage announce activation for integration into existing comms workflows.
Typical applications include production intercom in theaters, live events, broadcast OB vans, and fixed studio installations where discrete dual-channel monitoring is required. The TR-82N supports wireless talk around and stage announce features that streamline hands-on coordination between crew members. Its dual-listen design improves situational awareness during complex productions.
Built in a cast magnesium case, the TR-82N offers ruggedness while remaining lightweight for belt carry. The user interface and control layout are designed for quick deployment and straightforward operation under pressure. Combined with detachable antennas and battery versatility, the beltpack provides dependable operation in a wide range of temperatures and environments.
