Description
The TR-82N-FDR is a two-channel UHF narrow-band wireless beltpack designed for professional intercom systems. It provides dual-listen monitoring so an operator can hear two separate channels simultaneously. The unit is built for live production environments and combines rugged construction with a compact beltpack form factor.
Key features include a BAT/OM low battery and overmodulation indicator, receiver RF meter, and an LCD-based graphical user interface. The beltpack offers stage announce activation, a talk button with talk light, and wireless talk around (WTA/ISO) functionality. Individual volume controls allow per-ear level adjustment for precise monitoring.
Technically the TR-82N-FDR operates as a frequency-agile UHF narrow-band transmitter/receiver pair member and supports dual-channel binaural listening. Power is provided by six AA cells with NiMH battery compatibility offered as an option. The operating temperature range covers -20°C to 55°C to meet the demands of varied production environments.
Connectivity and headset support are flexible – the unit uses an auto-sensing headset connector that switches between electret and dynamic microphones automatically. Detachable antennas and enhanced ClearScan scanning improve RF performance and frequency management. The receiver RF meter and LCD GUI provide clear status feedback at a glance.
Typical applications include live theatre communication, broadcast talkback, and complex production signal chains where separate Tech and Production feeds are required. The dual-listen capability enables a single operator to monitor both a tech channel and a production director channel simultaneously. Wireless talk around and stage announce functions streamline workflow in multi-user setups.
Installation and daily operation are straightforward – on/off and volume controls are accessible, and the cast magnesium case provides durability for road use. The user-focused design reduces setup time and improves operator ergonomics. Overall the TR-82N-FDR delivers reliable, portable intercom performance for demanding AV and broadcast applications.
