Description

The TR-82N is a two-channel Narrow Band UHF frequency-agile beltpack designed to pair with the BTR-80N base station. This beltpack provides dual-listen capability so an operator can monitor Tech in one ear and Production in the other. The unit offers compact beltpack ergonomics and user controls suited to live production and broadcast environments.

Key features include a Low Battery/Overmodulation (BAT/OM) indicator, On/Off and volume control, a receiver RF meter and dedicated Talk and Talk Light controls. The TR-82N also supports Stage Announce (SA) and Wireless Talk Around (WTA) functions for flexible routing and isolated communication paths. Enhanced ClearScan and detachable antennas simplify frequency selection and RF setup.

Technical highlights include an LCD-based graphical user interface for straightforward status readout and tuning feedback. The chassis is an all-metal cast magnesium construction that prioritizes durability on tour and in studio environments. Power is provided by six AA cells using Alkaline chemistry with NiMH cells supported as an option, and the unit operates across an extended temperature range of -20°C – 55.

Connectivity is optimized for common production headsets via an auto-sensing headset connector that switches automatically between electret and dynamic headset microphones. Antennas are detachable to ease storage and to permit remote or distributed antenna setups. Individual ear volume controls allow fine control of dual-listen levels.

Typical applications include live event production, broadcast intercom links, stage management and technical operations where discrete two-channel monitoring is required. The TR-82N enables separate monitoring of discrete comms channels while retaining simple talk and announce functions for quick interaction.
