Description
The CCSD-FDS flush discussion device is a compact flush-mounted unit designed to provide clear voice pickup and local audio reproduction in meeting and conference installations. It features a fixed short microphone element and a built-in loudspeaker to support distributed audio and localized monitoring. The unit ships with a 2 meter attached cable to simplify connection to the conference system.
Key features include a fixed short microphone for close-range speech capture, a unique speak indicator that shows who may speak, and low susceptibility to mobile phone interference to reduce RF-related noise. The integrated loudspeaker provides nominal acoustic monitoring without need for external monitors. The design is optimized for flush mounting to minimize visual impact on tables or furniture.
Technically the device delivers a frequency response of 30 – 20000 Hz and nominal acoustic input and output levels of 85 dB SPL and 72 dB SPL respectively. It consumes 1.50 W of power and operates reliably across a wide relative humidity range of 5 – 98 % non-condensing. The enclosure uses ABS plastic with a polycarbonate cover to balance durability with a low-profile appearance.
Connectivity is straightforward via the attached 2 meter cable for signal and power integration into supported discussion systems. The flush-mounted form factor supports modular integration into conference furniture and lecterns. The unit is color finished in black to match common AV furniture and room environments.
Typical applications include structured meeting rooms, council chambers, boardrooms and other formal discussion environments where a low-profile microphone and local monitoring are required. The built-in speak indicator and speaker make it suitable for systems that require clear speaker identification and immediate audio feedback. Its low RF susceptibility helps maintain intelligibility in spaces with mobile phone activity.
Installation is simple using the supplied cutout template and countersunk screws for a secure flush fit into table or panel surfaces. The unit is specified to operate between 0 – 35 °C and to withstand storage temperatures from -40 – 70 °C. Overall build quality and standardized mounting make the CCSD-FDS practical to install and service in professional AV environments.
