Description
The BTR-80N base station is a UHF wireless intercom designed to provide reliable full-duplex communications for small crew deployments. It supports two independent intercom audio channels and tracks beltpack channel selection to enable party-line and private-line operation. The unit is rackmountable or usable on a table and is engineered for broadcast and live-event intercom duties.
The base station supports up to four beltpacks and provides simultaneous talk and listen capability for each user. It is frequency-agile across 470 – 608 MHz and 614 – 740 MHz in 18 MHz TX and RX bands and includes ClearScan to automatically find optimal operating frequencies. The system offers wireless talk-around and stage announce functions for stage and production workflows.
Transmit power is selectable up to 100 mW (high) or 10 mW (normal) and the modulation is FM with a deviation of 40 kHz (35 kHz Europe). The system delivers a frequency response of 300 Hz to 8 kHz and RF frequency stability of 0.005 for consistent audio performance. Battery operation uses standard alkaline cells in beltpacks and typical battery life is approximately 12 hrs.
Connectivity covers 4-wire input and output level-adjustable to 2 Vrms, auxiliary balanced audio input and output, and stage announce relay dry contact rated at 1 Amp 24V max. The base includes an IEC mains connector for 100-240 VAC operation and TNC antenna connectors supplied with 1/2 wave antennas. Compatibility extends to Audiocom, RTS Two-Wire, Clear-Com and other four-wire intercom systems.
The BTR series is suited for live events, broadcast production, theatre and corporate AV where untethered full-duplex intercom is required. Typical deployments include stage management, technical crews, and OB vans where two-channel separation and private-party lines are beneficial. The unit helps streamline communication paths while maintaining clear audio between users.
Installation is straightforward with table or rackmount options and a backlit LCD for monitoring beltpack status. Beltpacks are built in die-cast magnesium cases for shock and weather resistance and the base station includes user-friendly controls like ClearScan and SA/WTA functions. The design emphasizes reliability and straightforward system integration.
