Description
The ADDERLink ipeps mini is a compact standalone KVM over IP endpoint designed to provide secure remote access to a single DisplayPort-equipped host. It enables full keyboard, video and mouse control from anywhere via an IP network using the RealVNC client. The unit operates independently of the host operating system so administrators retain control during BIOS, boot or crash states.
Key features include support for DisplayPort input up to 1920×1200, USB 2.0 peripheral emulation, and enterprise-grade encryption using AES 128 or 256-bit plus RSA 2048-bit authentication. The ipeps mini runs a RealVNC Viewer implementation optimized for KVM-over-IP streaming to balance responsiveness and bandwidth. It also provides intelligent EDID management to present specific video modes to the connected computer.
Performance specifications include a maximum resolution of 1920×1200 and 8 bits per channel colour depth. Network connectivity is via a single 1GbE link and the device does not operate in 10/100 only mode. Power consumption is low, typically 3 W and maximum 5 W, and the unit can be powered by two USB 2.0 ports or an external 5 VDC 1 A supply.
Connectivity options consist of one full-size DisplayPort 1.1 input, two USB A ports providing USB 2.0 True Emulation across full speed and high speed devices, and one RJ45 network port. The ipeps mini supports up to 16 user profiles with role-based access and up to eight simultaneous remote users accessing a single target. It can also be deployed as a remote gateway into ADDERLink INFINITY, DDX and XDIP matrix systems and the ADDERView 4 PRO switch.
Typical applications include remote server administration, headless system management, and secure maintenance of equipment in data centres or remote facilities. The unit is suitable for IT administrators, broadcast engineers and AV integrators who require BIOS-level control and out-of-band access. Its compact ABS and aluminium construction and simple cabling make it straightforward to deploy in racks or remote cabinets.
Installation is straightforward and requires minimal configuration – attach DisplayPort and USB to the host, connect the network, and authenticate remote clients via RealVNC credentials and public key authentication. The ipeps mini operates in a wide temperature and humidity range and carries common certifications including CE, FCC and cULus. A two year warranty and an MTBF rating of 2,000,000 hours support reliable long-term use.
