The DANTE-12GAM is a 12G-SDI to Dante audio network bridge designed to move embedded audio between SDI video and AES67/Dante IP audio networks. It provides 64 channels of bidirectional embedded audio and supports modern broadcast resolutions up to DCI 4K. The unit includes a single-channel 12G-SDI single-mode LC fiber SFP for fiber video connectivity.
Key features include 12G-SDI input and output, de-embedding and embedding of up to 64 audio channels, dual EtherCON GigE ports for Dante primary/secondary networks, and support for AES67 and SMPTE ST 2110-30. The device also includes two independent internal video signal generators and an onboard LCD with physical controls for local configuration. A built-in web UI and USB-C static IP setup streamline integration and management.
Technically, the DANTE-12GAM accepts 12G-SDI 10- or 12-bit signals in 4:4:4 or 4:2:2 and supports DCI 4K and UHD 4K frame rates through 23.98 to 60 Hz. Each 12G-SDI input can carry up to 16 audio channels for a total of 64 channels supported for embedding and de-embedding. Dante audio sample rates include 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 88.2 kHz and 96 kHz with PCM 16/24/32 encoding and measured audio latency figures for embed and de-embed paths.
Connectivity covers 1x BNC 12G-SDI input, 1x BNC 12G-SDI output, 1x SFP 12G-SDI LC fiber output, dual EtherCON RJ45 Dante ports, and a USB-C port for initial configuration. The unit supports redundant network operation across primary and secondary Dante ports and interoperates with Dante Controller and other AES67-compliant systems. Power options include the supplied AC adapter and built-in PoE support with a DC input range of 10 to 18 VDC.
Typical applications include broadcast signal chains where audio must be routed between embedded SDI audio and IP audio infrastructures, live event facilities using Dante networks, and SMPTE ST 2110 migration scenarios that require ST 2110-30 compatibility.
