Description
The KD-FIX418A-3 is a 4K/18G HDMI fixer and booster designed to resolve common HDMI integration issues and maintain reliable signal delivery. It stabilizes HDMI handshakes, manages HDCP authentication, and regenerates TMDS to recover degraded signals. The unit also de-embeds audio for connection to audio DSPs, amplifiers, and sound bars.
Key features include HDMI signal correction, EDID handshake management, forced hot plug detection, and optional 4K to 1080p down-conversion. The device provides audio extraction via 3.5mm analog stereo and optical S/PDIF outputs and supports advanced surround formats such as DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD. HDR metadata support is included in many built-in EDID handshakes for improved image rendering.
Performance supports DCI 4K and UHD 4K at 24/25/30/60 Hz with up to 18 Gb/s bandwidth and HDCP 2.2 compatibility. Deep color handling includes up to 12-bit for 4K30 4:4:4 and 8-bit for 4K60 4:4:4. A full buffer system provides TMDS re-clocking, HDCP authentication, hot-plug management, and EDID control to maximize compatibility with displays and sources.
Connectivity covers a single HDMI input and output, micro-USB service port, and both analog 3.5mm and optical S/PDIF audio outputs. ARC and CEC passthrough are supported when connected to compatible displays and sources. The unit integrates into distributed audio or AV installations and interfaces with legacy displays using its down-conversion feature.
Typical applications include meeting rooms, classrooms, digital signage, and AV rack systems that require stable HDMI performance and audio extraction. The fixer aids installers by preventing handshake failures and enabling audio routing to DSPs or amplifiers. It also facilitates integration of modern 4K sources with older 1080p displays without changing source hardware.
The KD-FIX418A-3 is housed in a compact metal chassis with mounting L-brackets for flexible rack or shelf installation. Power is supplied via a 5 VDC 1 A adapter and the device consumes 5 W during operation. Its CE, EAC, RoHS, and WEEE certifications reinforce suitability for professional AV deployments.
