The CM62-BGM-II is a 6.5 in in-ceiling background music speaker engineered to deliver clear mid-range and extended high-frequency reproduction in commercial environments. It combines a 6.5 in polypropylene woofer and a 1 in silk dome tweeter to provide balanced audio for ambient and foreground music. The enclosure and tuned port deliver musical bass response while maintaining low-profile ceiling presence.
This speaker features BroadBeam Ring technology that improves mid-range clarity and off-axis uniformity – a magnetic seamless steel grille for refined aesthetics and paintability – and an easy-access rotary tap selector for 25/70.7/100-volt and transformer bypass settings. The unit provides selectable transformer taps up to 32W on 70.7V and 100V lines and a transformer bypass option for low-impedance installations. Sensitivity and impedance characteristics are tuned to optimize amplifier loading and system efficiency.
Technically the CM62-BGM-II offers a frequency response of 54 Hz to 20 kHz (±3 dB) and extended response to 50 Hz – 22 kHz (±10 dB). Maximum continuous RMS power is 50W with 100W program power capability and a nominal impedance of 16 Ohm. Sensitivity is specified at 84.5 dB @ 1W/1M and 81.4 dB @ 2.83V/1M, supporting efficient operation in multi-zone BGM systems.
Connectivity and installation are straightforward with a 4-pin ceramic terminal input and a six-position tap selector for common commercial line voltages. Installation is designed for commercial ceilings with a cutout diameter of 10.5 in and maximum ceiling thickness of 1.6 in – the visible diameter is 11.75 in and visible height is 0.34 in. Accessories such as a tile bridge, conduit clamp and paint mask simplify mounting and finishing. The steel magnetic seamless grille provides a secure, tool-free attachment and can be painted to match the ceiling for a discreet finish.
