Description

The EU-BTN21 is a compact wall-mounted Bluetooth audio interface designed to bridge local Bluetooth sources and Dante or AES67 audio networks. It provides bidirectional audio so a Bluetooth device can stream media into the network and receive a return talk channel from the network. The unit is PoE powered to simplify installation and requires no local power supply.

The module supports stereo streaming or a summed mono feed presented as two Dante channels, and one Dante channel can be routed back to the Bluetooth device to enable full duplex talkback. Pairing is handled by an intuitive single button with LED status indication and many Bluetooth functions are accessible via RDL CONSOLE software. Track title and artist metadata are multicast on the network to compatible devices so downstream products can display source info.

Audio transport uses Dante or AES67 at 48 kHz sample rate and 24-bit depth, carried over a 100 Mbps Ethernet link. Nominal operating levels are -20 dBFS = +4 dBu balanced or -20 dBFS = -10 dBV unbalanced. The module complies with IEEE 802.3af PoE Class 0 power and is specified for operation in typical AV environments from 0 C to 40 C.

Connectivity is via an RJ45 network connector with link and speed indicators, and the module supports multicast of media data and status for discovery and control. RDL CONSOLE allows customization of the module ID name, mono/stereo mode, LED dim intensity and timeout settings. A Q-SYS plug-in is available for seamless configuration in Q-SYS systems.

Typical applications include background music streaming, source injection for paging or announcement systems, and adding a Bluetooth endpoint for conference rooms or retail audio zones. The return channel makes the EU-BTN21 suitable for two-way workflows such as remote talkback or mobile-device assisted announcements. Its compact EU wall module form factor allows discreet placement in public and corporate spaces.

Installation is straightforward – the European 45 mm x 45 mm chassis fits a standard 60 mm deep EU junction box and the white faceplate laminate ships installed while a field-replaceable black laminate is included. PoE operation removes the need for a local power outlet and the unit’s single-button pairing and RDL CONSOLE integration reduce commissioning time. The EU-BTN21 is engineered for reliable networked audio integration in professional AV systems.
